Girl Power!

GIRL POWER is FREE for DATTA Vic members. It's an all-girl workshop held at Mount Alexander College, and it's designed to get your female students engaged in STEM. Teachers and students will work with DATTA Vic to learn how to build, program and compete with robots.

The Rigg Design Prize at NGV 

Recognising excellence in Australian design, the Rigg Design Prize is the highest accolade for contemporary design in Australia. The triennial prize is awarded to an Australian design practice displaying outstanding creative achievements in contemporary design.

Design Storytellers - The Work of Broached Commissions at NGV

Established in 2011, Broached Commissions was founded as a creative agency whose purpose is to commission designers to produce ambitious and finely crafted, collectable design pieces with the capacity to reflect on or disrupt the traditions of design.

Meet the Museum - Communication Design with Jacob Tolo

Meet Museum Victoria’s Senior Communication Designer, Jacob Tolo. Born in Samoa, Jacob was raised and studied Graphic Design in Auckland New Zealand. Having worked in publishing, advertising and a variety of design studios in both Auckland and Melbourne, Jacob also has a background in curating, making and exhibiting.

NGV Meet the Designer - Danielle Brustman

To celebrate Design and Technology Week enjoy a guided walk through the Rigg Design Prize 2018 led by an NGV Educator, followed by a presentation from shortlisted designer Danielle Brustman about her design practice and her submission for the Rigg Prize.

STEM Video Game Arcade at Scienceworks 

Design, video games, and STEM come together in this pop-up arcade showcasing original video games created by grade 5-12 students.

No registration necessary. Access to the STEM Video Game Arcade is included with entry to Scienceworks. (Free for all students and concession card holders. $15 for adults) 10am - 4pm

 

Designing Women at NGV 

Spanning nearly 40 years, from 1980 to 2018, Designing Women highlights the ongoing role of female designers as a dynamic and critical force in shaping contemporary design culture.

As part of Design & Technologies Week the Ballarat Tech School will deliver a creative, innovative and challenging learning program focusing on Aboriginal culture and design as part of our A-STEAM (Aboriginal Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Program.

Design Thinking Masterclass at Monash University

Monash University’s Faculty of Art Design and Architecture is offering 10 Secondary School Design and Technology teachers the opportunity to have an exclusive Masterclass in Design Thinking.

This is a free 2 day Masterclass. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. If your school is registered for Design and Technology Week 2018 you are eligible to enter.
